Derby City Bowling presents The Fire & Ice Tournament. This tournament will be held at Dixie Bowl on March 16, 2014. The Fire & Ice Tournament will run 2 completely opposite patterns per pair of lanes. Left lane will be the long flat pattern and the right lane will be the short pattern. This should be a tough yet fun challenge for bowlers to bowl on. We have all had those nights where we expect to go in and bowl league on consistent lanes but a curve gets thrown at us when we see a big difference in break points between the pair of lanes. So we want to embrace that and make it fun and entertaining for the people that are watching and the bowlers that are battling it out on these conditions.

This tournament will start off with a 3 game qualifier. If we get 32 bowlers we will take the the top 16 scores and put them in the double elimination bracket and then the bottom 16 scores will be put in the single elimination bracket. If a bowler loses in the double elimination bracket that bowler will move to the single elimination bracket. If a bowler loses in the single elimination bracket then that bowler is eliminated. This will continue until there is one bowler left in each bracket then face-off. The bowler from the single elimination bracket must beat their opponent twice to win the tournament.

We will only take the top 16, 32 or 64 depending on the turnout so there will be no byes!
